Dolores Albarracín is the Amy Gutmann Penn Integrates Knowledge University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania (United States). She is also Emeritus Professor in the departments of Psychology, Business Administration and Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. She studies the impact of communication and persuasion on human behavior and the formation of beliefs, attitudes, and goals, particularly those that are socially beneficial. As well as basic attitudinal processes, she is interested in finding ways of intervening to promote positive social interactions and public policies. Author of over 230 articles and book chapters in the realm of psychology and health, her two latest books are Creating Conspiracy Beliefs: How Our Thoughts Are Shaped and Action and Inaction in a Social World: Predicting and Changing Attitudes and Behavior. Her distinctions include the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Social Sciences and the Career Contribution Award of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology.
