Daniela Rus is Director of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she is also the Panasonic Professor of Computer Science and Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She is also MIT Director of the DAF-MIT AI Accelerator. Her research on autonomy, soft robotics, and human-robot interfaces includes the application of generative AI to machines and self-driving vehicles. She has developed liquid neural networks for use in drones and an AI copilot that helps identify potential risks in the air. A Class of 2002 MacArthur Fellow, in 2023 she was distinguished with the Robotics and Automation Award of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and in 2024 was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
