Ali Shilatifard is Robert Francis Furchgott Professor of Biochemistry and Pediatrics, Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, and Director of the Simpson Querrey Center for Epigenetics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is a leader in the field of chromatin and transcription biology and leukemia research, and author of pioneering work in epigenetics. Shilatifard has served as editor of Science Advances and chair of its editorial board, as senior editor of Science and on the Board of Reviewing Editors of eLife. An Elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, his numerous distinctions include the Martin E. and Gertrude G. Walder Award for Research Excellence, the National Cancer Institute Outstanding Investigator Award, and the ASBMB-AMGEN Award of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
