Senior scientist at the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique/Institute Pierre-Simon Laplace (LMD/IPSL) in Paris, run jointly by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique and the Université Pierre et Marie Curie. Her main research interests are the role of clouds in climate and the response of the climate system to human activity.

As well as heading the LMD’s climate modeling team, since 2008 she has co-chaired the World Climate Research Program’s Working Group on Coupled Modeling, which coordinates the climate simulations run by teams round the world and whose predictions serve as input to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

She was a lead author of the Fourth Assessment Report for which the IPCC received the Nobel Prize in 2007.
