Deputy Director (Partnerships) and Genus Chair of Animal Biotechnology at the Roslin Institute and the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies (RDSVS), both part of the University of Edinburgh. A pioneer in the use of lentivirus vectors for transgene delivery, he is now working on a robust methodology for genome editing in livestock, in order to combat infectious disease in animals and evaluate new treatments for human disease. He is Editor-inChief of Transgenic Research, and has worked with the World Organization for Animal Health.
